Fuller, Reese Named FCS All-New England
Central Connecticut football seniors Taylor Fuller and Antwione Reese were named to the FCS All-New England Team on Monday afternoon. Fuller was one of five offensive linemen selected to the squad, while Reese earned one of the four slots in the defensive backfield. Both players earned First Team All-Northeast Conference honors last week.
The FCS All-New England Team was selected by the New England Football Writers' Association.
Reese led the Blue Devils in tackles from his safety position each of the last two seasons. He finished the 2013 season with 88 total tackles, including 38 solo stops. Reese's 7.3 tackles per game ranked him fourth in the NEC. He also had an interception, fumble recovery and three forced fumbles during his senior season.
Fuller was a cornerstone on a CCSU offensive line that set a school record for total offense in a season with 4,826 yards. Fuller and his fellow linemen allowed just five sacks all season. Through the conclusion of the regular season, CCSU's 0.42 sacks allowed per game is the best in the nation. The group also helped quarterback Nick SanGiacomo throw for a school record 20 touchdowns and junior Rob Hollomon rush for 1,452 yards on the season.
The duo of Fuller and Reese are the first Blue Devils to earn All-New England honors since defensive end Charles Williams following the 2011 season.
