Men's Basketball Travels to North Carolina A&T on Thursday

Central Connecticut men's basketball is back on the road for a pair of games, beginning with Thursday's contest at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, NC. CCSU is 4-3 on the year after defeating Pine Manor College, 88-59, last time out.

Senior Tyler Kohl led four Blue Devils in double-figures with 29 points against the Gators on Sunday. Junior Joe Hugley and freshman Ian Krishnan each added 16 points, while junior Jamir Coleman pitched in with 12 points. The Blue Devils have won four games before Dec. 1 for the first time since 2010-11. CCSU will be looking to win five games in November since going to Division I in 1986-87.

The Aggies are coming off their first win of the season, a 74-60 victory at Mount St. Mary's on Nov. 21. Terry Harris and Qua Copeland lead NC A&T in scoring with 10.8 ppg and 10.5 ppg, respectively.

KOHL OPENS SEASON STRONG • Tyler Kohl is averaging 22.9 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.4 spg to start the season and has already earned 2 Northeast Conference Player of the Week Awards. Kohl posted his second double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 boards in Central's win over Florida A&M. He hit 10-of-11 foul shots and gave out seven assists. The 6-foot-5 senior has been among the best players in the league thus far, ranking 1st in scoring, 3rd in assists, 3rd in rebounding and 10th in steals.
 
CENTRAL SCORING BALANCE • The Blue Devils had 5 players in double-figures for the first time this year in the win over Florida A&M. On the season, CCSU has had at least 3 in double-figures in all but two games (UML, LMU). CCSU currently has 4 players averaging double-figures and each of them shoot .478 or better from the field.
 
HUGLEY HELPS OFF THE BENCH • Joe Hugley came off the bench to score in double-figures in each of the last four games - his 18th double-digit output. He is averaging 11.0 ppg, while shooting 47.8% from the field. Hugley scored a season-high 21 points at Loyola Marymount when hit 6-of-7 shots, including 4-of-5 three-pointers. He had a career-high 33 at Fairleigh Dickinson (Jan. 4, 2018) when he shot 10-20 from the field and had 5-11 from the arc.
 
UP NEXT • Central travels to Virginia Tech on Saturday night for the first meeting between the schools. CCSU has had four first-time meetings with schools thus far this season, going 2-2.
