The Central Connecticut men's and women's basketball teams will host Alumni Day on Saturday, February 15. The Blue Devils host Bryant for the women's game at 1:00 p.m., followed by the men's game. The day will celebrate the 20th anniversary of CCSU's first Northeast Conference men's basketball championship team.
The women's game will tip off at 1:00 p.m. to begin the day. A reception for alumni in attendance will be held following the women's game until the start of the men's game at 3:30 p.m. A short ceremony will take place at halftime of the men's game to recognize the alumni in attendance.
The Blue Devils went 25-6 overall in 1999-2000 and defeated Robert Morris, 63-46, in the conference championship game to earn the program's first NCAA Tournament bid. The squad was led by the league's Coach of the Year, Howie Dickenman, and included the NEC Player of the Year, Rick Mickens, along with All-NEC honorees Corsley Edwards, who would be named the 2001-02 NEC Player of the Year, and John Tice, who scored 21 points against Iowa State in the NCAA Tournament.
