Men's Golf Finishes Play at St. John's

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished in 13th place after the third and final round of The Doc Gimmler Tournament hosted by St. John's University on The Red Course of Bethpage in Farmingdale, NY on Saturday.  Central shot a day three total of 293 to finish with a three-day total of 873.

Sophomore Matt Hills led the way for the Blue Devils on Saturday firing a round of 70 to finish in a tie for 29th place overall.  He shot 213 for the three round tournament.

Freshman Anthony Sebastianelli shot a 76 on the final day, finishing at 218 in a tie for 47th place. Junior Connor Murphy shot a 72, his best round of the tournament, to finish at 221 in a tie for 57th place.  Senior Monte Mullen shot 76 (222) and finished in a tie for 59th place.  Sophomore Bryant Bolden shot 75, his best round of the weekend, and finished at 233 (t72nd).

Yale won the team title with a three-round total of 823, five shots better than Loyola MAryland.  Idaho was third, followed by Army and then St. John's rounding out the top five.

The Blue Devils will take two weeks off before competing again this fall.  After playing in three tournaments in the first 14 days of the season, Central will not be in action again until Sept. 26-27 at the Tuxedo Autumn Invitational at Tuxedo Park, NY.
