Senior Eddie Yepes of the Central Connecticut men's soccer team was named Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday it was announced by the league. Yepes scored a pair of goals in the Blue Devils' overtime win at Sacred Heart on Sunday.
Yepes opened the scoring in the game with a free-kick goal in the 26th minute to give CCSU an early lead. He would win the game just three minutes into overtime when he finished a loose ball for winner to make it 3-2.
The senior finished the season with eight goals and three assists. He had a streak of scoring in five straight games (Oct. 6-25) and had a goal in six of the last seven games of the year. He ranked third in the NEC in all games with 19 points and eight goals. In conference play, he tied for the league lead with 18 points and eight goals.
