The Central Connecticut men's track and field team competed at the Yale Invitational on Saturday in New Haven, CT. The Blue Devils were led by NEC Track Athlete of the Week, Aaron Radden, who placed first in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.83 - just .01 seconds shy of the CCSU record he set last season.
Central earned a pair of third-place finishes in the meet. Freshman Jamie Tobias turned in a bronze performance in the high jump, clearing 1.94 meters and sophomore Jordan Watkins ran a 8.44 in the 60 meter hurdles for an additional third. Watkins was followed by senior Nick Lindblom who placed fifth just .07 seconds behind. Watkins' time was just .03 seconds shy of the CCSU record (8.41) that Lindblom set in 2012.
Central performed well in the relay events as well, boasting third place in the distance relay with a time of 10:09.56, fifth in the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 7:52.03 and seventh in the 4x400 meter relay, crossing the line in 3:30.62.
Additional individual accomplishments for the Blue Devils included a sixth-place finish from sophomore Andrew Hill in the one mile run (4:23.43) as well as a trio of other top-10 finishes.
Junior Michael Ficorilli placed ninth in the shot put, registering 13.14 meters along with sophomore Jamal Fruster, who also placed ninth in the 400 meter dash (51.07). Freshman John Sudol, in his second collegiate meet, tallied another ninth-place finish for Central in the triple jump (12.36 meters). Sudol also placed 11th in the long jump, registering 6.19 meters.

The Blue Devils will resume 2013 indoor competition at the Albany Great Dane Classic on Friday, January 18 in New York, NY.
