Mike Waterbury enters his third year as the Blue Devils cross country/track assistant coach. Waterbury adds previous coaching experience at the high school and collegiate level.
Waterbury was a member of the Central Connecticut Class of 2013 where he serves as a member of the cross country and indoor & outdoor track and field teams from Fall 2008-Spring 2013. The Connecticut native majored in Physical Education with a cross endorsement in Health Education and graduated cum laude.
In 2015, the former Blue Devil was a volunteer assistant coach on the Quinnipiac men’s cross country team. While volunteering at the collegiate level, Waterbury was also the head indoor track distance coach (2014-16) and the outdoor track sprints coach (2016-17) at Haddam Killingworth High School in Higganum, CT. He coached eight athletes to their first ever appearance at the New England Championships, as well as the New Balance Indoor Nationals while at Haddam Killingworth.
Waterbury also served as a substitute teacher for three years at Haddam. Currently, the CCSU alum is a certified job coach where he liaisons employers, students and transition academy supervisors.
