Bolan Earns Second Straight NEC Rookie of the Week Nod

After earning both Player & Rookie of the Week honors last week, Bolan picks up another Rookie of the Week award after a solid performance at the plate.  The Fair Point, NY product hit .421 with eight hits, three RBI and three runs scored as the Blue Devils split their first four conference games.

She began the week compiling a 3-for-7 day in a doubleheader against Albany, including a two-RBI single.  In the first NEC contest of the season, Bolan reached base in all three of her at-bats while crossing home plate twice. She went 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in the Blue Devils' 9-6 win over Sacred Heart.

In the second game of Saturday's double dip with FDU, the freshman was a main contributor again. She drove in a run and scored once as part of a 2-for-4 showing.   She currently ranks second on her team in batting average (.318) and third in RBIs (13).

Central Connecticut senior infielder Lex Debrosse batted .533 over last week's six games.  She delivered three of her five RBIs of the week in the second game against FDU.  Debrosse hit a two-run dinger and finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored in the 10-0 Blue Devil victory.

CCSU will face Fairfield at home on Thursday for a 3:00 p.m. showdown at CCSU Softball Field in New Britain, CT.
