The Central Connecticut women's golf team jumped to fifth place on the NEC Tournament leader board after the second round of championship stroke play. The third and final round of the tournament will be Sunday, April 29th.
The Blue Devils (327/316/643) shot a season-low 316 on day two as they made their way into the field's top-five. Four-time reigning NEC Champion Fairleigh Dickinson (305/307/612) tops the leader board while Long Island (308/313/621), Sacred Heart (310/317/627), Monmouth (315/316/631) and Central round out the top-five. Central Connecticut leads sixth place St. Francis (PA) (324/324/648) by five strokes.
Junior Anna Ausanio (78/76/154) led the Blue Devils on the tournament's second day and is currently tied for sixth place individually. Ausanio made par on an impressive 14 of 18 holes and birdied the 13th leading to a day-two 76. The junior is nine strokes off of the tournament's individual leader.
Tied for 21st after the second round, junior Katie Reid (82/80/162) birdied three holes and finished with an even 80. Junior Stephanie Bednar (84/79/163) broke 80 and carded a 79 on Saturday with two birdies on her score card. She is tied for 24th on the individual leader board.
Freshman Albrianna Farnum (83/81/164) is tied for 27th and sophomore Gina Grant (90/88/178) is tied for 42nd.
