Women's Golf's Williams 5th in Tourney

Incoming freshman Ella Williams of the Central Connecticut women's golf team recently boasted an impressive finish at the Alberta Junior Girls Championships, notching a four-round stroke total of 307 for fifth place overall out of 120 players.


The Alberta native posted a score of 78 in the first round, 79 in the second and third rounds and capped off her performance with a 71-stroke final round in which she was one of only two competitors to finish under par for the course in the round. Click here to view Williams' scorecard.

Williams is set to begin her career as a Blue Devil this fall and comes to CCSU from Western Canada High School where she racked up several accolades. 

A member of Glencoe Golf and Country Club, Williams won the club's Junior Club Championship in 2012. She earned first place finishes at the MJT British Columbia Series/Kelowna, BC and MJT Prodigy Series Calgary, AB. She tied for second place at the MJT Okanagan Junior Championship and finished in the top-five at the Calgary Junior Open Tournament.
