Women's Golf Moves to Fifth After Day Two at NECs

Junior Albrianna Farnum and freshman Ella Williams each shot 76 as the Central Connecticut women's golf team moved to fifth place of eight teams after the second round of the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championships.  The tournament is being held at the LPGA International Captain's Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Central shot 315 as a team and sits at 641 after the second round on Saturday.  They are four strokes back of Robert Morris for fourth place and just six strokes behind Fairleigh Dickinson for third. 

LIU Brooklyn leads with a 602, followed by St. Francis U with a two day score of 604.

Farnum and Williams each shot 76 for the day, followed by a 78 from freshman Kaitlyn Stoddart.  Sophomore Sarah Boden and senior Nicole Pizzoferrato each shot 85 on Saturday.

For Williams her second round score was eight strokes better that her 84 in Friday's first round.  The 76 was the seventh best single round of the day on Saturday among the 40 golfers. 

Farnum is tied for ninth overall, while Stoddart is tied for 14th and Williams sits in a tie for 18th place.

The third and final round will take place on Sunday morning.
