Women's Golf Finishes Seventh at NEC Championships

The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot 328 on the third and final day of the Northeast Conference Women's Golf Championship on Sunday, finishing in seventh place overall with a three-day score of 969.  Central finished one shot out of sixth place and just seven shots out of fifth.

Freshman Kaitlyn Stoddart was the top finisher for the Blue Devils with a team-low 238 (81-78-79) for the tournament.  Stoddart capped her first NEC Championship by firing a 79 in Sunday's third round.  She had posted 81 and 78 in the first two rounds.  Stoddart finished in 15th place on the individual list.

Two strokes behind Stoddart was junior Albrianna Farnum who finished tied for 18th with a total score of 240 (79-76-85).  Farnum shot an 85 in the third round.

Freshman Ella Williams finished 25th with a score of 244 (84-76-84).    Sophomore Sarah Boden produced the Blue Devils' second lowest round on Sunday with an 80.  She finished with 247 (82-85-80) strokes and tied for 28th.

Senior Nicole Pizzoferrato rounded out the Blue Devil squad with a 260 (89-85-86).  She ranked 34th individually.

LIU Brooklyn captured the NEC Championship for the third straight year.  While Blackbird Marisol Doglioli captured the individual honors at six-under-par.  Doglioli's 210 strokes for the tournament made her the only individual to finish under par.

Saint Francis U, Fairleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart and Robert Morris filled the top-five.  Wagner, CCSU and St. Francis Brooklyn completed the field.
