Livingston Looks For Strong Impact From Freshman Class

With its 2018 season-opener right around the corner on Saturday, February 17 at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA, Central Connecticut women's lacrosse head coach Princess Livingston in her second season at the helm of the Blue Devils is looking for large contributions across her eight-player freshman class.

In addition to the eight rookies, Central's 2018 roster features seven sophomores, two juniors and four veterans in the senior class. The newcomers bring talent from Connecticut, New York, Florida, New Jersey, New Hampshire and New Zealand to the Blue Devils this year.

#6 Carrisa Brown | M | 5-1 | Windsor, CT

"An explosive midfielder who brings a physical style of play with her," commented coach Livingston, Brown was a local standout at Windsor High School where she was a two-time All-Conference selection. In her senior year at Windsor, Brown was named to the 2017 All-State Class M First Team. "Carrisa will help push our pace and complement our veteran class this year."

#8 Kaitlyn Rapp | A | 5-4 | Oceanside, NY

Rapp comes to the Blue Devils from Oceanside, NY, "Rapp has excellent field awareness and is a constant offensive threat. We will look to her to play a role in the offense this upcoming season," said Livingston.

#13 Maya Usher | M | 5-3 | Lithia, FL

A sunshine state native, "Usher's non-traditional style of play gives her an offensive edge from any position", said Livingston. The Newsome High School record holder for the most goals in a single-season (66), was a two-time All-Western Conference First Team selection and the 2015-16 Offensive Player of the Year.

#15 Emma Sullivan | M | 5-4 | Pearl River, NY

Livingston sees Sullivan as, "A true midfielder who carries a triple threat style of play. Emma will give us a confident presence on the field." Sullivan was a 2017 All-Section First Team selection at Pearl River.

#18 Olivia Prizzi | M/D | 5-10 | West Nyack, NY

"Originally a defender, we will look to Prizzi on the offensive side of the ball. Her height and vision will help her be successful and transition easily at the collegiate level," said Livingston. Prizzi comes from the prestigious Kingston lacrosse program where she was captain, a two-time Times Herald Record All-Star First Team selection and Section IX All-Star First Time pick.

#20 Nina Sutton | D | 5-3 | Auckland, New Zealand

Sutton comes to Central Connecticut from Auckland, New Zealand where she was a leader on the National New Zealand Team (NZBLAX). "Nina brings quality experience to CCSU from playing at the national level. The tenacity in which she displays will create havoc for other teams and will add a tremendous value to our possession game," stated Livingston.

#26 Meaghan Allard | GK | 5-4 | Amherst, NH

A Granite State product, Allard was a two-time All-State First Team selection at Souhegan. "Meaghan has experience performing in high pressure situations and we will look to see her utilize this at the collegiate level," said Livingston.

#30 Cooper Cowdin | GK | 5-6 | Berlin, NJ

The South Jersey 2017 Goalie of the Year, Cowdin comes to the Blue Devils from Berlin, NJ. "We are thrilled to have Cooper join our family. She comes to Central after having a fantastic season at Eastern Regional High in a highly competitive league."
