Griebel Breaks School Record at Palo Alto

Competing at the Stanford University Palo Alto Invitational on Friday was senior distance runner Alasia Griebel.  Griebel was the only Blue Devil from the women's track & field team to run at Stanford.  The meet was held at Stanford University in Stanford, CA.

The senior ran the 1,500m in a time of 4:28.13, good for second place.  Griebel's mark broke her own CCSU 1,500m school record of 4:36.64.  She finished behind only Weber State's Laken Hintze who finished first with a time of 4:27.62.

Griebel finished ahead of Xavier's Rachel Clark (4:28.58), California's Sydney Gray (4:29.21), and Washington State's Caroline Austin (4:29.37).  The 1,500m was Griebel's only event of the meet.

The Central Connecticut women's track & field team will be competing tomorrow, Saturday, April 7th at the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational.
