2013: Started in 17 of the 18 games he played
in for the Blue Devils in 2013...Led the Blue Devils with six goals
and five assists on the year resulting in a team high seventeen
total points...Recorded his best game at Stony Brook on Sep. 22
where he finished with a goal and an assist resulting in three
total points for the Blue Devils...His goal was the game-winner in
what ended in a 2-0 Blue Devil victory...Earned NEC weekly honors
following his performance as he was named NEC player of the week
ending Sep. 23...Finished with forty-nine total shots, landing
twenty-four on goal resulting in a .490 shot on goal
percentage.
Before CCSU:A transfer from Monmouth
University. He was awarded the "Golden Boot" in this summer's
Super-20 League Championship held in Bradenton, FL. He scored four
goals in three games for Beachside FC. Zurita was the 2011-12
Gatorade Connecticut Soccer Player of the Year, Connecticut Soccer
Coaches Association Player of the Year and a high School
All-American. Zurita is the leading scorer in Bunnell High School
history, registering 96 goals and 42 assists in his career as
a four-year starter and two-year captain. In addition to
his All-American selection, he was named All-New England in 2010
and 2011, selected to the Connecticut Senior Bowl in 2011, named
2011 Greater New Haven Referee Association Boys Player of the Year
and was named a 2010 Gatorade Player of the Year
Finalist. Zurita played club soccer in the USSF Academy system
for South Central Premier and attended the USA U17 National
Training Center in 2011. He was also named to the Academy National
Select Team.
