Women's Track & Field Wraps Up UConn Northeast Challenge
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team concluded its two-days of competition at the UCONN Northeast Challenge on Saturday in Storrs, CT.
CCSU returns to action on Friday, April 25th when it hosts the CCSU Blue Devil Spring Invitational. Senior Day begins at 9:15 am and the meet will begin at 10:00 am.
- Wenesha Stewart threw the shotput 13.06m to finish fifth, while Marina Perry's throw of 12.67m was good for seventh
- Mya Morabito was the sixth runner to cross the line in the 1500m, with a time of 4:33.59
- Isabelle Mondo captured sixth in the 3000m steeplechase, running 12:19.71
- Alexandria Klopfer finished seventh, at 12:37.48 in the steeplechase, .07 seconds in front of her teammate Isabella Jensen
- Rebecca Carusone crossed the finish line in 20:11.61 to earn a seventh-place showing in the 5000m
- Sarah Ovesny was the top Blue Devil in the hammer throw, placing seventh at 45.97m, while Stewart threw 44.15m and finished 10th
- Kaylee Gravel ran a personal-best 2:17.35 in the 800m, and finished ninth in the field
- Taina DeJesus finished the 400m hurdles in 1:06.44, a season-best, to place ninth
- Rachel Bartolucci, Morabito, Oliwia Marecik and Jessica Farrelly ran the 4x400 relay in a time of 4:10.77 and finished eighth
