Men's Cross Country Wins NEC Title #13
The Central Connecticut State men's cross country team won the NEC title for the third straight year on Saturday morning at B&D Acres in Tyrone, PA. Mark Rodriguez won the individual title (25:34.2), narrowly edging teammate Aidan Budge (25:39.2).
Rodriguez and Budge ran in a group of four through the first three loops, before pulling away on the final portion of the course to capture the top two spots.
Salvatore Masciarelli took home eight place for the Blue Devils, crossing the line at 26:11.3 Joseph Lauria was next across for Central, with a 15th place finish in 26:39.6. Michael Kraszewski was the final scorer, in 20th, in a time of 26:50.1. Mario Oliva (27:02.3) and Ryan McCauley (27:17.7) were sixth and seventh across for CCSU in 24th and 31st place respectively.

- Rodriguez third consecutive Blue Devil to win the individual title and be named Most Outstanding Performer
- CCSU has won four of the past five NEC championships
- It marked the 13th overall NEC cross country championship for the Blue Devils, the most in NEC history
