CCSU Softball Gives Back to Community
The Central Connecticut State University softball team understands the importance of giving back to the community. Last Friday head coach Jeff Franquet and the CCSU squad went out to Jefferson Elementary school to clean the playground area and the natural gardens on the property. They picked up garbage, raked all of the leaves and planted flowers and shrubs. Nancy Sarra, the principal at Jefferson met with the team to thank them for all their efforts. Both parties are setting up a weekly schedule for Fun Fridays at the school, as well as other clean up projects.

"I personally feel that community service and reaching out to our local community is one of the best life lessons we can teach our young athletes," said Franquet. "I am so proud of our team and their efforts to help the community. It was so wonderful to hear our players tell me they had a great time at Jefferson."
