He entered the year with 373 career rushing yards, and with 541 this season he is just 86 yards shy of becoming the 16th player in CCSU history to reach the 1,000-yard plateau. At his current pace, he will enter the annals next weekend at Delaware State.
The Buffalo, NY native, who is averaging 7.3 yards per carry, is now ranked second in the nation in rushing. He also ranks sixth amongst all-purpose runners. Mallory is tops in the Northeast Conference in both categories.
Central Connecticut (2-1) will travel to Dover, DE on Saturday, Sept. 27 for a 7 p.m. contest against Delaware State. As of last week, the Hornets (1-1) were receiving votes in both The Sports Network FCS Poll and the FCS Coaches' Poll.
