Chris Baskerville Wins CCSU Men's Basketball Blue Devil Run on Wednesday
Sophomore Chris Baskerville dethroned defending champion Vince Rosario in the 14th Annual Blue Devil Run on Wednesday afternoon in New Britain. Baskerville finished the course in 23:00 flat, the fastest winning time since Javier Mojica won it in 22:45 prior to the 2006-07 season. The Blue Devil run takes place on a 3.7 mile course adjacent to the Central campus.

Baskerville finished the course in 23:00 flat, the fastest winning

22:45 prior to the 2006-07 season. The Blue Devil run takes place
on a 3.7 mile course adjacent to the Central campus.
Rosario, last year's champion, finished second (23:57) while junior
guard Shemik Thompson (24:30) was
third. Sophomore Robby Ptacek (24:58), senior
Joe Seymore (25:20), junior
Ross Pentland (26:14),
freshman Jonathan Tull (26:38), freshman Joe Efese (27:28) and
junior David Simmons (29:46)
rounded out the group.
The Blue Devil Run has been an annual event at the official beginning of the basketball season since head coach Howie Dickenman took over the men's basketball program 14 years ago.
The Blue Devils begin practice for the 2009-10 season on Friday
night in New Britain. The first game of the season will take place
on Friday night, November 13th against Fairfield in the inaugural
Connecticut 6 Classic. This season the Classic will be held at the
Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport. CCSU and Fairfield will tip in
the second game of the Classic at 7:30 p.m.
Juniors Ken Horton and Markys Deans
and freshman Devan Bailey were excused from the race.
