Blue Devils Drop 70-53 Decision to Holy Cross at the Mohegan Sun Arena
The Central Connecticut State University men's basketball fell to 4-7 overall on the season with a 70-53 defeat to Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon. The game was played at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Central was led by Junior David Simmons who had his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Blue Devils return to action on Monday night playing on the road at Colgate.

to 4-7 overall on the season with a 70-53 defeat to Holy Cross on
Saturday afternoon. The game was played at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Central was led by Junior David Simmons who had his
third double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
The Blue Devils return to action on Monday night playing on the
road at Colgate.
Central shot justy 29.3 percent (17-of-58) from the field in the
game and hit only two of 17 from three. They were outrebounded
42-33 on the night.
The Blue Devils did turn the ball over just seven times in the
game, and have had just 13 in the last two games. They had 10
assists, including two by three different players.
Simmons led the way with his 13 points and 11 boards, his third
double-double of the season. He was 5-of-10 from the field and
3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Classmate Shemik Thompson had 11
points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals for the Blue
Devils in the loss.
Sophomore Vince Rosario had 10 points,
including two three-pointers. No other player on the roster made a
three in the game.
Holy Cross was led by Devin Brown who had a game-high 19 points.
R.J. Evans had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for
Holy Cross, who improved to 3-11 on the season with the
victory.
The Blue Devils return to action on Monday night at Colgate
beginning at 7 p.m. They will play on the road three times next
week, including at Monmouth on Thursday night and at Fairleigh
Dickinson on Saturday night.
