Blue Devils Open Two-Game Ohio Swing At Dayton on Sunday
CCSU Moves On To Cincinnati On Tuesday
The Central Connecticut State women's basketball team begins a two-game road trip in the State of Ohio when the Blue Devils take on the Flyers of the University of Dayton (4-3) in a non-conference contest on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the UD Arena. Central (1-7) earned its first win of the season on Black Friday afternoon, as the Blue Devils topped the University of Bridgeport, 66-25, in Detrick Gymnasium.

Sunday's meeting will be the first ever clash on the women's hardwood between CCSU and Dayton.
A LOOK BACK AT FRIDAY'S WIN OVER BRIDGEPORT ...
• A dominant defensive effort led the host Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils to their first win of the season on Friday afternoon, a 66-25 triumph over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. Central limited UB to only six total points in the second half and forced the visitors into a total of 31 turnovers which CCSU turned into 33 points. The 25 points scored by Bridgeport are the lowest point total registered by a Central opponent since 29 by St. Francis Brooklyn during the 2012-13 season
• Junior Lucia Noin led all scorers in the game with a career-high 20 points for the Blue Devils, as she hit 10-of-15 field goals. Noin was joined in double figures by senior Alonna Sellers with 18 points, one off her career high, and freshman Dagny Slomack, who netted a career-best 16 points in Friday's win. CCSU's Selina Monestime led all rebounders in the contest with a career-high 12 boards.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION ...
• The University of Dayton Flyers are members of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A10) and come into Sunday's game with the Blue Devils sporting a 4-3 overall record. The Flyers are currently on a two-game losing streak having dropped both games at the Music City Classic in Nashville earlier in the week falling to Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday, 62-56, and South Dakota on Tuesday, 79-69. Dayton's last win was a 65-61 home triumph over Providence on November 21.
• Senior Ivy Wolf leads the Flyers in scoring so far this season averaging an impressive 17.7 points per game.
• Classmate Arianna Smith is her team's leading rebounder grabbing an average of 7.5 boards per outing.
• As a team, Dayton is averaging 67.0 points and 38.6 rebounds per outing, and they are allowing the opposition 65.4 points per game plus opponents are pulling down an average of 35.9 rebounds per game.
• The Flyers are led by third-year head coach Tamika Williams-Jeter. Last season, Dayton posted a 12-19 overall mark and a 5-13 conference record.

• CCSU's number two ranking in the Preseason Northeast Conference Coaches' Poll is the highest ranking in program history.
• Freshman Dagny Slomack leads three Central players in double-digit scoring so far this season averaging 10.5 points per game after her career-best, 16-point performance in Friday's win.
• Classmate Selina Monestime is next in scoring averaging in double figures at 10.4 points per game, and she is grabbing an average of 5.5 rebounds per game; which is second on the squad. Monestime pulled down a career-high 12 boards versus Bridgeport on Friday.
• Graduate student Meghan Kenefick rounds out the CCSU trio of double-figures scorers averaging 10.3 points per game, and she is also averaging 4.9 rebounds per game. Meghan enters Sunday's game with a career total of 469 rebounds.
• Junior Alonna Sellers leads CCSU on the boards so far in 2024-25 averaging 7.4 rebounds per game. Sellers is also averaging 9.4 points per outing after netting 18 points in Friday's win.
• Dagny Slomack has reached double-digit scoring in six the Blue Devils' eight games so far this season.
• Senior Amaya Williams is the only CCSU player to start every game so far this season.
• Meghan Kenefick and Amaya Williams lead the Blue Devils with 16 assists a piece through eight games so far this campaign.
• Friday's 66 points are a single-game, season-high so far this year for Central.
• As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 56.3 points per game and allowing the opposition to score an average of 70.0 points per game. On the glass, Central is pulling down an average of 34.4 rebounds per game; while the opposition is averaging 39.1 rebounds per contest.
