Monacelli Named To NEC Lacrosse All-Rookie Team
Attack is first Blue Devil to earn All-Rookie since 2017
Central Connecticut State freshman Amaya Monacelli was named to the NEC Women's Lacrosse All-Rookie Team, announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Monacelli, a native of Moscow, PA, led the Blue Devils with 31 points this season, including a team-best 27 goals. She also had eight ground balls, eight caused turnovers and four assists.
A graduate of North Pocono High School, Monacelli scored a career-high five goals in the game at New Haven on April. That was her seventh hat trick of the 2026 campaign. Monacelli made an immediate impact on the Blue Devils, starting the season with consecutive hat tricks, including a four-point effort in her collegiate debut at Iona. That opening day earned her NEC Rookie of the Week honors.
Monacelli is the first Blue Devil named to the All-Rookie Team since Megan Szawlowski in 2017. The NEC began honoring six members of an All-Rookie Team for the 2011 season and Monacelli is the fifth Blue Devil to earn the honor.
