Junior third baseman Mitch Wells was named a New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association All-Star on Monday. Wells batted .360 with a team-high 73 hits and 43 runs batted in in 2011. The Blue Devils ended the season with a 26-25-1 overall record. Wells was previously named a First Team All-Northeast Conference selection for the second straight season.
The Central Connecticut baseball season came to an end on Sunday afternoon with a 6-3 loss to Monmouth in an elimination game in the Northeast Conference Tournament. Central ends the season with a 26-25-1 overall record. Freshman J.P. Sportman drove in a pair of runs in the loss. Monmouth advances to face Sacred Heart later on Sunday.

Central Connecticut and Boston College played four full innings before the rain came in Boston and forced the game to be stopped just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The game was tied 1-1 when it was suspended. It is possible the game will be replayed at a later date.
Senior second baseman Sean Miller-Jones was named the Akadema/Northeast Conference baseball player of the week on Monday. Miller-Jones and the Blue Devils completed a weekend sweep on the road at Quinnipiac on Sunday, outscoring the Bobcats 43-9 in the four-game set.
