Men's Basketball to Open Season at Home Monday

The Central Connecticut State men's basketball team opens the 2025-26 season at home against Vermont State Johnson on Monday night. The Blue Devils tip off at 7:00 pm and tickets are available here.

Following the season-opener, CCSU will travel to Quinnipiac for a 7:00 pm game on Thursday night. CCSU leads the all-time series, 48-25, and won the last meeting on Dec. 21, 2024.

OPENING NOTES

• Central Connecticut will be opening the season with a home game for the first time since 2019-20 (L vs. Hartford, 59-74).

• Patrick Sellers begins his 5th season leading his alma mater. He has led CCSU to back-to-back NEC regular season crowns, along with, consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time in the program's Division I history.

LOOSE BALLS ...

• Central has posted 20+ wins in consecutive seasons for the first time in its Division I history. The Blue Devils last accomplished the feat in 1982-83 (21-9) and 1983-84 (26-6).

• Last season, CCSU committed just 11.3 fouls per game, ranking 2nd nationally, and shattering the NEC mark of 13.0 (Monmouth, 1989-90).

• The Blue Devils have won 9 straight road games dating back to Dec. 15, 2024 (69-77 at URI)and ranked 2nd for the most road wins (12) in the country last season (UC Irvine, 14).

• In '24-25, CCSU led the NEC in offensive efficiency (108.3) AND defensive efficiency (97.5).

• When scoring 70+ points under Patrick Sellers, CCSU is 53-13 (.803) overall.

• Since 2021-22, CCSU has won 7 straight 1-point games (Jan. 21, 2022, 67-68 loss at SFU).
