The Central Connecticut State men's basketball team begins play in the NEC Tournament on Wednesday against Wagner. The Blue Devils are the No. 2 seed, while the Seahawks are the No. 7 seed.
Tickets for the general public are available now at CCSUBlueDevils.com/CCSUTickets. Should the Blue Devils advance to the semifinals, season ticket holders will receive an email following the game regarding purchasing tickets for the NEC Tournament semifinal, that will be played on Saturday, March 7th. Semifinal tickets for the general public are scheduled to go on sale, if nescessary, on Thursday, March 5th. Information on student-ticket distribution for the semifinals will be shared via campus email following the quarterfinal, if necessary.

OPENING NOTES
• Central Connecticut opens NEC Tournament play against Wagner on Wednesday. The Seahawks have won the previous five postseason meetings.
• Central is making its 5th straight NEC Tournament experience for the first time since making 16 straight appearances from 1999-2014.
• Patrick Sellers is in his 5th season leading his alma mater. He has led CCSU to back-to-back NEC regular season crowns, along with, consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time in the program's Division I history.

• Through 29 games, CCSU is committing 13.6 fouls per game, which ranks 4th nationally. Last season, CCSU committed 11.3 fouls per game, setting an NEC mark and ranking 2nd nationally.
• Central LEADS the NEC in offensive efficiency (110.5) and is 6th in defensive rating (112.1)

Jay Rodgers has 204 assists, just the 2nd player with 200+ assists in a season in CCSU history. The all-time single-season record is 227 (Jere Quinn, 1975-76).

Darin Smith, Jr., the NEC Player of the Year, leads the NEC in scoring (20.4) and foul shooting (.909) and ranks among the top-15 in SEVEN stat categories in the league.

Jay Rodgers (1,219) and
Melo Sanchez (1,117) have both surpassed 1,000 career points in their college careers when taking into account their stops prior to coming to Central.
• CCSU has 20+ wins in each of last 2 seasons, giving it consecutive 20+ win campaigns for the first time in its D-I history. CCSU did it in 1982-83 (21-9) and 1983-84 (26-6) in D-II.
• When scoring 70+ points under Patrick Sellers, CCSU is 55-15 (.786) overall. Central is 34-3 in such games dating back to Jan. 19, 2024.
