Women's XC 30th at NCAA Regionals

The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished 30th out of 37 teams at the NCAA Regional Championships on Friday hosted by Yale University and Fairfield University at Hammonassett State Park in Madison, CT. The women were led by junior Krisztina Dearborn who placed 95th overall in the 6K race, crossing the finish line in 21:58.5.

The Providence Friars placed first in the race, earning 46 total team points. Providence was followed by Connecticut, Cornell, Harvard and Boston College.

Junior Elizabeth Eberhardt finished second for the Blue Devils, crossing the finish line in 22:10.4 for 110th place out of 253 runners. Freshman Jazmin Booker completed the race in 23:25.7 in 190th place and was followed 11 seconds later by sophomore Shannon McBride who finished in 199th. Freshman Caylee Richardson rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils finishing in 216th place with a time of 23:56.9.

Freshmen Brandy LeClair and Ally Gates also competed for the Blue Devils. LeClair finished just two seconds behind Richardson for 219th place and Gates earned 238th with a time of 24:30.3.

The scores for the top five teams were Providence (46), Connecticut (67), Cornell (118), Harvard (150) and Boston College (150). Central was the third highest-scoring NEC team. The Blue Devils were preceded by Sacred Heart (16th) and Bryant (23rd).
