Hennessey Named NEC Rookie Of The Week
Was 3-3 in kicking chances in collegiate debut
Central Connecticut State redshirt-freshman Jack Hennessey was named the NEC Football Rookie of the Week on Monday for his performance in the Blue Devils season opener.
A native of Endwell, NY, Hennessey went a perfect 3-3 in kicking oppurtunties in his collegiate debut. His first chance came just 126 seconds into the game, converting a PAT after an Elijah Howard touchdown. He would then convert both of his field goal oppurtunties, making kicks from 20 and 29 yards. His seven points scored was the most of any NEC player during the first week of the 2025 season.
Hennessey and the Blue Devils are back in action on Saturday, September 6th, for the 2025 home opener versus AIC. Tickets for that 6:00 pm game, the first of seven home games, are available by visiting the CCSU Online Ticket Office. Season and single-game tickets are available.
