KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils and Huskies played an even first half until midway through the period when a penalty kick was awarded to UConn. Sabri Hanni would send the keeper the wrong way and converted the spot kick to make it 1-0 at the 22:33 mark.
- The Huskies doubled the lead with just under 10 minutes to go in the period when Scott Testori put a through ball onto the foot of Eli Conway who converted the goal to make it 2-0 in the 36th minute.
- In the second half, the Blue Devils pressured the Huskies from the outset. The pressure paid off in the 56th minute when Parker Bowman slid a pass to Brown, who connected on a strike from the left wing sending his shot into the upper corner to make it 2-1.
- The Huskies would look to find an insurance goal, but Michel Pinoncely would be up to the challenge making a pair of strong saves. In the 65th minute, Kieran Chandler got free for a shot, but Pinoncely got a hand to it and pushed the shot away. Just five minutes later, UConn got another penalty try, but Pinoncely would dive to his left to make a stop and the follow up shot was off the mark.
- The Blue Devils would continue to push for the tying goal, but were unable to get a shot over the final 20 minutes.
