NEC Announces Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll
The Central Connecticut State men's soccer team was voted to finish 10th in the preseason poll of NEC head coaches, announced Wednesday by the conference office.
LIU and Mercyhurst shared the top spot in the poll, earning three and five first-place votes, respectively. Mercyhurst won the 2024 regular season crown, while LIU won the tournament title. FDU earned a pair of first place votes to sit third in the poll, just ahead of Le Moyne in the top four spots.
The top four teams in the NEC regular season standings will earn postseason NEC Tournament berths, with the tournament champion representing the conference in the NCAA Tournament. The league slate begins at home for the Blue Devil on Sunday, September 27, against FDU. The NEC Tournament semifinals are slated for November 13, with the championship game on November 16. Those games will be played on the campus of the higher seed in the contest.
The 2025 campaign begins on August 28, when CCSU travels to UAlbany. The home opener will be on Thursday, September 9 when Merrimack visits CCSU Soccer Field.
