Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw With Delaware on Friday Afternoon
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw following a pair of overtime periods on Friday afternoon against Delaware. The game was played at the Naval Academy. Senior goalkeeper Erin Herd recorded her third shutout of the season in goal for the Blue Devils, who now are 2-1-2 overall this season.

Herd recorded her third shutout of the season in goal for the
Blue Devils, who now are 2-1-2 overall this season.
Herd was impressive in goal and for the Blue Devils recording the
third shutout of the season and her second straight. She is now
2-0-2 this season in goal and has allowed only one goal in 400
minutes of action. She has a goals against average of 0.22 this
season in those four games.
Each team recorded eight shots on goal in the game but neither was
able to break through for a score. It marked the second double
overtime draw for the Blue Devils this season who have now yielded
only three goals in their five games in 2008.
Delaware keeper Brianna Stemler also recorded eight saves in net
for the Blue Hens in the game.
The Blue Hens held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks in the contest. Herd
made a pair of saves in the first overtime period to preserve the
scoreless tie. She has not allowed a goal in her last 250:05
dating back to a 2-1 win over UConn last week.
The Blue Devils return to action on Sunday facing the host school
Navy as the tournament continues. The game will kick-off at 3
p.m.
