Men's Golf Finishes 6th at NEC's

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished sixth on the final leader board at the 2012 Northeast Conference Championships.  The Blue Devils (314/304/310/928) shot a third round 310 to conclude the championship tournament.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament was hosted at LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, FL.  The par-72 course played 6,919 yards long.

Mount St. Mary's (297/303/300/900) topped the leader board after the final round of tournament play.  LIU Brooklyn (314/304//300/918) and Fairleigh Dickinson (301/308/309/918) tied for second place, Sacred Heart (309/300/310/919) sealed fourth place, and Robert Morris (309/312/306/927) rounded out the top-five.

Central placed ahead of seventh place Monmouth (318/309/302/929) by a single stroke.  St. Francis (PA) (305/309/317/931) finished eighth, Wagner (328/328/320/976) ninth, and St. Francis (NY) tenth (345/343/349/1037).

Junior Dan Fanion (75/75/79/229) led the Blue Devils finishing ninth individually.  He shot a 79 on his final 18 of the tournament.  Fanion finished +13 overall and just 10 strokes off of the individual champion.

Finishing in the top-20 was junior William Finnerty (79/78/75/232) who tied for 19th place.  He shot his lowest score on Sunday carding a 75 and his three-round score put him at +16 to par for the tournament.

Freshman Monte Mullen (77/75/80/232) tied with Finnerty for 19th place (+16) and sophomore Daniel Morgan (83/80/77/240) shot his lowest score in round three marking down a 77.  Morgan finished in 37th place individually (+24).  Senior Kevin Josephson (87/76/79/242) placed tied for 41st (+26).
