Men's Basketball Opens Season at Providence Monday
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team tips off the 2024-25 season on Monday night at Providence. The game will be shown nationally on FS1 in a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.

The Blue Devils and Friars are meeting for the first time since Dec. 11, 2021. PC has won the last five matchups since Central won, 54-50, on Dec. 21, 1999.
OPENING NOTES
• Central Connecticut begins the 2024-25 campaign at Providence and will be playing a BIG EAST opponent for the first time since the 2022-23 season (at St. John's).
• Head coach Patrick Sellers begins his 4th season in charge of his alma mater.
• The Blue Devils travel to Saint Joseph's on Nov. 8, before their home-opener against Vermont St.-Johnson on Nov. 11.

• With 13 NEC wins in 2023-24, Central had its most league wins since going 16-2 in 2006-07.
• Dating back to the 2021-22 season, CCSU has won 6 straight 1-point games. Its last one-point loss came on Jan. 21, 2022 in a 67-68 loss at SFU. Two came vs. Wagner this season.
• CCSU posted two of the three largest margins of victory in program-history last season with wins over Saint Elizabeth (99-38, 2nd, 12/30/23) and Framingham St. (99-42, 3rd, 11/13/23)
• Central blocked 150 blocked shots as a team in 2023-24, the 4th highest single season mark.
• The Blue Devils made 208 three-pointers as a team last season - the 8th highest single season total in program history.
