Men's Basketball Downs Holy Cross for Fourth Straight Win
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team won its fourth straight game, downing Holy Cross, 69-56, on Saturday at the Hart Center in Worcester, MA. The Blue Devils would lead for over 33 minutes in the game and had three players in double-figures.
James Jones led CCSU with 20 points and a career-high six steals. Abdul Momoh and Devin Haid each added 12 points. CCSU was 28-of-54 (.519) shooting overall and 5-of-17 (.294) from three-point range. The Blue Devils were 8-of-12 (.667) at the foul line.
Max Green led Holy Cross with 15 points. The Crusaders shot 22-of-51 (.431) overall and 8-of-21 (.381) on three-pointers. Holy Cross was 4-of-5 (.800) at the foul line.

KEY MOMENTS
- Central would score the first five points of the game and led by as many as seven in the early going. The Crusaders would use a 9-2 run to take their first lead of the game before Central responded with six straight points of its own. Abdul Momoh punctuated the run with a dunk to make it 21-18 and forced a Holy Cross timeout.
- The Blue Devils would stretch the run to 13-0, holding Holy Cross scoreless for over three minutes. Central would make 8-of-9 from the field at one point and a turnaround jumper by Momoh pushed the lead to 30-23 with 3:36 remaining. Devin Haid was fouled on his third three-pointer of the half and converted the foul shot to push the lead to double-figures. The Blue Devils closed the half on a 10-2 run over the final 4:19 to lead 38-25 at the break.
- A layup by James jones with 11:53 remaining put CCSU ahead, 52-34, and forced a Holy Cross timeout. Central would then endure a stretch of making just 1-of-8 from three-point range, and the Crusaders would score 11 unanswered points to get within 56-50 after a Max Green three-pointer with 5:30 to play.
- Jordan Jones would hit a three-pointer to end the scoreless drought with 4:29 to play. A layup by Jayden Brown would push the lead back to double-figures and the CCSU defense would limit Holy Cross to 1-of-5 shooting at one point to hold off the late push by the Crusaders
