Cieslik, Carroll Earn NEC Weekly Awards
Duo took home the conferences diver and rookie of the week accolades.
Kaitlyn Carroll, Diver, and Amelia Cieslik, Rookie, of the Central Connecticut State swimming and diving team were honored with Northeast Conference weekly honors on Monday. The duo was joined on the NEC Prime Performer list by Sophie Milhomens.
Carroll, a Liverpool, NY native, led the Blue Devils in the Pace Diving Invitational the first weekend of December. She placed second on the 3M board with a score of 245.75. Carroll also finished fifth on the 1m board at the five-team event, posting 218.00 points.
Cieslik, a native of Southington, CT, made her US Paralympic Swimming Nationals debut this past weekend. She posted personal-best times in five of her seven swims over the course of the three-day meet and reached the B Final in two of her events.
Milhomens won the 200 backstroke and swam in the A Final of each of her individual events at the Gompei Invitational.
The Blue Devils turn their attention to training on campus this week, before returning in the New Year. The teams next competition comes January 11, 2025 at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex in dual meet action with Old Dominion, East Carolina and William & Mary.
