Cieslik Shines At US Paralympic Summer Nationals
Rising sophomore posts three personal-best swims
Central Connecticut State rising sophomore Amelia Cieslik competed at the 2025 U.S. Paralympic Swimming National Championships this weekend in Boise, ID.
A native of Southington, CT, Cieslik swam the 400m freestyle and 50m butterfly on Friday, the opening day of the meet. She placed second in the 50 fly in S2-S7, swimming a career-best time in finals, 51.32. She placed 14th overall in the 400 free, third in her class, with a swim of 6:37.64, shaving eight seconds off her prelim swim. That time equaled a career-best.
On Saturday Cieslik swam the 50 freestyle and placed third in S7 with a time of 39.26.
On the final day of competition, Cieslik competed in the 200m IM and the 100m freestyle. She was 11th in the 200 IM, swimming 3:59.97 and finished 18th in the 100 free, with a personal-best time of 1:27.42.
