Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll Announced by NEC
The Central Connecticut State volleyball team was picked seventh in the preseason poll of NEC head coaches, announced Thursday by the conference office.
LIU and FDU shared the top spot in the poll, earning four and three first-place votes, respectively. Saint Francis U. received two first-place votes and was followed by Chicago State to round out the top four in the poll.
The top four teams in the NEC regular season standings will earn postseason NEC Tournament berths, with the tournament champion representing the conference in the NCAA Tournament. The league slate begins at home for the Blue Devil on Friday, September 26, against Saint Francis U. The NEC Tournament will be contested at the campus of the highest seed with the semifinals on November 21 and the championship on Saturday the 22nd.
The 2025 campaign begins on August 29, when CCSU faces Stony Brook. The home opener will be on Wednesday, September 17 when Sacred Heart visits Detrick Gymnasium.
