Volleyball Falls Against Iona on Saturday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to Iona on Saturday at the Seton Hall Classic. Anja Milosevic collected 27 assists and Annabelle Denommé had 13 digs for CCSU.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils took their first lead of the opening set following a kill by Weronika Poczynek and an Iona error made it 8-7. After a kill by Olivia Keckler got CCSU back within 11-10, the Gaels would push ahead 14-11 and force a CCSU timeout. The Iona lead grew to 18-12 before CCSU charged back with three straight points to get within, 24-23, after a kill by Keckler. The Gaels would take advantage of a Central error to win the set however.
- Central would score the first four points of the second set, including two kills by Breanna Ginley, to go ahead 4-0. A kill by Keckler extended the lead to 6-2, but Iona would eventually use a 4-0 run to go ahead 12-10. The set was tied 13-all before Iona scored seven straight points to go ahead for good in the frame and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
- A kill by Sonja Lind and consecutive Gaels errors gave CCSU a three-point margin before Iona scored seven straight to go ahead 7-3 in the third set. The Gaels would never surrender the lead and pushed the margin to double-figures enroute to closing out the match.

.462 – Amanda Tokam had a team-best attack percentage with six kills in 13 attempts.
NOTES
- Keckler led CCSU with nine kills, while adding nine digs and a block.
- Poczynek had eight kills and two digs.
- CCSU leads the all-time series, 19-7.
