Ausanio 3rd After Two Rounds at NEC's

The Central Connecticut women's golf team shot s 328 on the second day of the 2013 Northeast Conference Championships.  The Blue Devils are currently in fifth place with a score of 643 over the first two rounds.  CCSU posted a team score of 329 in Saturday's second round, with senior Anna Ausanio's 79 leading the way.

 The NEC Championship is being played on the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, FL.  The course is 5,969 yards long and is a Par-72.

Ausanio followed up her opening round 74 (+2) with a 79 (+7) on Saturday.  Ausano remains Central's top- player and she is tied for third on the individual leader board following two rounds of competition.  With a total score of 153 (+9) she is just four strokes off Mariana Juaristi of Fairleigh Dickinson who currently leads the field.

Senior Stephanie Bednar led a trio of Blue Devils that carded 83 (+11) on the second day.  Bednar is currently tied for 19th after following her opening round 79 (+7) with a second round  83.  Her total score is currently 162.

Sophomore Albriana Farnum is third for CCSU and tied for 24th overall after two rounds.  Farnum carded an 83 in round two after posting a 80 (+8) in round one.  She has a two-day total of 163 strokes.  Freshman Sara Boden claimed Central's final scoring spot on Saturday with an 83.  She had also shot 83 (+11) on Friday's first round and currently sits tied for 27th with a 166.

Senior Katie Reid followed her opening round 82 (+10) with an 85 (+13) in Saturday's second round.  Reid sits in a tie for 30th with a two-day score of 167.

LIU Brooklyn holds the team lead heading into the final day.  The Blackbirds have a team score of 616 (304, 312).  Sacred Heart  with 633 (321, 312), Fairleigh Dickinson with 636 (312, 324), and Quinnipiac with 642 (318, 324) are currently in second, third and fourth places.  The Blue Devils are in fifth, followed by Monmouth, Saint Francis U, Wagner, Robert Morris, Mount St. Mary's and Saint Francis Brooklyn.

The tournament will conclude with the third and final round on Sunday at the LPGA International.
