Cancellieri Leads Women's Cross Country At Paul Short
Blue Devils were 22nd as a team in the brown race
The Central Connecticut State women's cross-country team posted a 22nd place finish in the Brown Race at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday, hosted by Lehigh University. Julianna Cancellieri was the Blue Devils top finisher, running to a 19th place finish in the race, with a run of 21:31.3.

NOTABLE
- Cancellieri was 79th after the first mile and moved up 49 spots over the second mile to set herself up for a final push into the top-20 of the standings
- Kaylee Gravel was the Blue Devils second finisher, running 22:29.5 to place 77th
- Lillian Tabellione was the top rookie for CCSU, placing 114th at 22:50.2, moving up 58 spots in the standings in the second mile, and then passing 23 more runners over the second portion of the race
- Isabelle Mondo ran 23:38.8 to place 194th in the race, and Isabella Jensen was 208th at 23:44.9 to round out the CCSU scoring effort
RACE NOTES
- The Brown race was contested by 307 racers representing 35 starting teams
- NEC foes Merrimack, Stonehill, LIU, Le Moyne, FDU and Wagner were amongst the teams that ran in the race with the Blue Devils
- CCSU posted 559 points in the race, behind NEC foes Stonehill (17th, 499 points) and Wagner (21st, 551 points
- Cancellieri finished 167th overall in the four flights of the Paul Short Run, that consisted of 1,356 racers
