Trio of Top-10 Finishes Pace Women's Cross Country at CCSU Mini Meet
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team won the CCSU Mini Meet on Friday in New Britain, CT, with three runners placing in the top-10. Juliana Cancellieri and Maegan Desmarais both placed in the top five, while Isabella Jensen placed seventh.

NOTABLE
- Cancellieri turned in a time of 9:50.82 and placed second overall among 45 runners.
- Desmarais placed fourth with a time of 10:01.64, while Jensen was seventh (10:15.09).
- Kaylee Gravel placed 11th with a time of 10:20.67 and Lillian Tabellione was 14th and finished in 10:27.74.
- Rachel Bartolucci (10:39.21) and Isabelle Mondo (10:57.20) rounded out the group of Blue Devils' runners.
- In the subvarsity race, Oliwia Marecik finished fifth with a time of 11:01.31. Megan McPhee finished with a time of 11:19.81
RACE NOTES
- Will Benoit, running unattached, topped the individual standings with a time of 14:43.97, just ahead of former CCSU standout James Sullivan (14:45.69).
- The Blue Devils topped the team standings with a score of 36 points. UMass Lowell (55) and Stony Brook (56) followed in the standings.
- Former CCSU standout, Brooke Morabito, set the women's 3K course record (9:25) in 2024.
