Baseball Headed to Auburn Regional Along With Stetson and NC State
After winning its ninth Northeast Conference championship in program history, the Central Connecticut baseball team will head to Auburn, AL, to face No. 4 overall seed Auburn in the NCAA Baseball Regionals it was announced Monday. Central is 31-15 overall and will be making its fifth NCAA appearance since 2017. NC State and Stetson will meet in the other regional contest.
The Blue Devils and Tigers will play on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+. N.C. State, the No. 2 seed in the region, will play Stetson, the regions No. 3 seed, at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

Head coach Charlie Hickey guided the Blue Devils to a 6-5 win in 12 innings over LIU in the decisive game 7 of the NEC championship. Central has gone 31-15 this season, marking the 19th time under Hickey's direction the Blue Devils have won 25+ games. Currently in his 26th season at the helm of CCSU, Hickey is the winningest coach in program history and notched his 800th career win over the weekend. He spent three seasons as the head coach at Providence College, prior to arriving in New Britain.
The Blue Devils will be making their ninth NCAA Tournament appearance overall. They have won conference titles in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2025.
