Cameron Joins Great Falls Voyagers of Pioneer League
Former Central Connecticut baseball standout Wyatt Cameron has joined the professional ranks with the Great Falls (MT) Voyagers of the Frontier League. Cameron, who played at Central in 2024-25, is reunited with Jeff Nicol, who played at Central from 2020-24, on the Voyagers' roster.
Cameron is coming off a season in which he helped CCSU win its ninth Northeast Conference championship to advance to the NCAA Tournament. He was named the NEC Tournament MVP after pitching in all four games, including both in the championship round. He went 4.2 shutout innings, allowing just three hits in the decisive win. He went 1-1 with a 1.74 ERA in 10.1 innings and had two saves on the weekend. The Blue Devils played at the Auburn Regional.
Cameron was named All-NEC First Team following his senior season. He appeared in 36 career games, posting a 3-2 record with nine saves. He had a 3.18 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 68.0 innings. Cameron recorded 82 strikeouts against 34 walks, with a K/9 rate of 10.85.
Since joining the Voyagers, Cameron has appeared in two games. He has thrown 2.2 innings, recording a pair of strikeouts, while posting a 3.38 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. In his most recent outing on June 12 against the Ogden Raptors, he faced off against former Blue Devil standout Elliot Good (2021-24).
Great Falls plays in the 12-team Pioneer League, which was designated as a MLB Partner Leagues in 2021. The league was founded in 1939 and was formerly a short-season Rookie League for MLB. The leauge has sent several alumni on to play in the Major Leagues and in 2024, the league expanded its geographical footprint, introducing two new teams in California - the Oakland Ballers and the Yolo High Wheelers.
