Women's Soccer Picked Fourth In Preseason Poll
The Blue Devils open the 2025 campaign August 17th
The Central Connecticut State women's soccer team was voted to finish fourth in the preseason poll of NEC head coaches, announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Howard, the defending champion, earned seven of the 12 first place votes to be named the preseason favorite. FDU earned four first place votes to sit second in the poll and Wagner was third, with a first place vote to its credit as well. Stonehill was slotted fifth, behind the Blue Devils, followed by LIU, Saint Francis, Mercyhurst, Le Moyne, New Haven, Chicago State and Delaware State.
The top-four teams in the NEC regular season standings will earn postseason NEC Tournament berths, with the tournament champion representing the conference in the NCAA Tournament. The league slate begins at home for the Blue Devils, Thursday, September 18th versus Wagner. The NEC Tournament semifinals are slated for November 6th, with the championship game on November 9th. Those games are played on the campus of the higher seed in the contest.
The 2025 campaign begins on August 17th, when CCSU travels to Lafayette. The home opener comes on Sunday, August 24th when Dartmouth visits CCSU Soccer Field.
