Women's Soccer Downs Chicago State; D'Arcy Earns Win 250
Riley Powers' goal lifts Central to its first win of the season and Mick D'Arcy's 250th in his coaching career.
Head coach Mick D'Arcy won his 250th career game and the Central Connecticut women's soccer team won, 1-0, at Chicago State on Thursday evening. The game's only goal came in the 64th minute off a strike from Riley Powers that keeps CCSU unbeaten in NEC play.
The Blue Devils return home to host New Haven on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.

- The teams played an even opening half with both sides collecting two shots on frame in the opening 45 minutes.
- Central would come out on the attach in the second half, getting off six shots in the opening 15 minutes. The goal would come in the 64th minute when the Blue Devils picked up the ball near midfield. Luci Schroeder would slip a pass to Riley Powers on the left wing. Powers dribbled towards goal before sending a shot to the upper right corner from almost 25 yards to make it 1-0
- The Cougars would keep the game within a goal and put three shots on frame. Melina Ford made saves on each shot. CSU would have a last-gasp chance to tie, getting a corner kick in the closing seconds, but the shot to tie the game went just high as time expired.
