Women's Soccer Remains Unbeaten In NEC Play
Blue Devils Top New Haven, 1-0, To Move To 2-0-2 in Conference Action
The CCSU women's soccer team remained unbeaten in conference play at 2-0-2, as the Blue Devils posted a 1-0 home NEC victory over conference newcomer and in-state rival, the University of New Haven on a hot Sunday afternoon in New Britain. Freshman Emma Gupta scored the only goal of the match in the 29th minute of play when she slid home a beautiful through ball from graduate student Luci Schroeder with a composed finish past the UNH keeper. Sunday's victory moves Central's overall record to 2-4-3; while the visiting Chargers remain winless in their first campaign at the Division 1 level at 0-8-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the Northeast Conference.

- After New Haven managed to take the first two shots of the afternoon, CCSU's Stella Orellana fired the first of her team's season-high 30 shots (nine of which were on goal) at the 10:54 mark of the opening half, but her effort was stopped by the Charger's goalkeeper Caitlin Daley.
