Women's Soccer Tops LIU On Senior Day
Four different Blue Devils scored on Senior Day
The Central Connecticut State women's soccer team scored three times in the final 30 minutes to earn a key NEC victory, defeating visiting LIU 4-2 Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Devils received goals from four different players and assists from three more on the afternoon.
CCSU hosts Le Monye for its final home game of the regular season, at 6:00 pm on Thursday.

KEY MOMENTS
- Riley Powers laced a shot from 22-yards out in the 3rd minute, that was barely over the crossbar
- Hannah Dorney put the Blue Devils on top, sliding a pass from Leah Howe across the face of the goal and tucked it inside the opposite post
- Powers had nearly an identical look with 17:00 to play in the first-half, and was just high once again and in the final 15:00 of the opening half Emma Radoncic and Kayla Ward both had shots miss wide right by small margins
- LIU found the equalizer with 2:22 to play before intermission when Sophia Paffrath played a long ball down the far side line that Kaleigh West was able to touch around the defense and put into the back of the net
- Luci Schroeder put the Blue Devils back on top in the 61st minute, collecting a ball in the box and knocking it home for a2-1 advantage.
- The Blue Devils scored on a set piece at 73:34, as Kayla Ward's corner kick was headed by Gabrielle Smith and Emma Radoncic headed it home for a 3-1 advantage
- Riley Powers scored from just inside midfield with five seconds remaining, when the LIU keeper got caught out of the net trying to find the equalizer for the Sharks
