Women's Soccer Falls in Double-OT at Wagner in NEC Title Tilt
The Central Connecticut State women's soccer fell to second-seeded Wagner, 2-1, in double-overtime in the NEC Championship game on Sunday in Staten Island, NY. The fourth-seeded Blue Devils took a first half lead on a goal by Kiley Yepes before the Seahawks tied the game in the second half and won on a golden goal in a game played in rainy, wet conditions.
Isabella Cambio, Leah Howe and Stella Orellana were named to the NEC All-Tournament Team.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils got on the board less than 10 minutes into the contest. CCSU reversed the field with a ball to Leah Howe on the right side of the field. Howe would lay it off to Kiley Yepes who lofted a shot from nearly 20 yards out, over the goalkeeper and just under the crossbar to make it 1-0.
- Wagner tied the game at the 32:33 mark of the second half. A cross from the left side sailed into the box to Dedre Meberg who tapped it in to make it 1-1.
- In the closing minute of regulation, the Seahawks nearly won it after an initial shot was stopped the rebounds rolled to a Wagner attacker who tapped her shot off the post.
- Wagner found the game-winner with 6:30 left in double overtime. Off a long free kick, MeBerg headed behind the defense and Riley Frederick got a foot to it, slipping it into the net to make it 2-1.

- Yepes and Rebecca Devereaux each had a shot on goal for the Blue Devils.
- Melina Ford, the NEC Goalkeeper of the Year, made seven saves in the game.
