Morabito Tabbed NEC Track Athlete Of The Week
Posted top time in the NEC in 800m and mile
Central Connecticut State's Mya Morabito was named the NEC Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, in recognition of her performances at the TCNJ Winter Invitational. She is joined on the NEC Prime Performer list by Ciara Adu-Addo and Maegan Desmarais.
Morabito captured the top spot in both races she ran on Saturday. She posted the top mile time in the NEC this indoor season, crossing the line at 4:58.16. That time ranks eighth in the Northeast Region this season and is currently ranked 71st in the nation. Morabito also won the 800m in a time of 2:20.88, which is 11th in the region and tops in the NEC.
Adu-Addo set a school record in the long jump, at 5.70m, tops in the NEC and tied for 7th in the Northeast Region. was third in the 800 at 2:22.37 and fourth in the mile at 5:09.07.
The Blue Devils are back in action on Saturday, January 17th at the Wagner College Invitational.
