Women's Track & Field Wins NEC Indoor Championship
The Central Connecticut State women's track and field team won the 2026 NEC Indoor Championship on Monday. The Blue Devils scored 135 points to pull away in the team standings, with Stonehill placing second with 91.50 points.
The Blue Devils collected four first-place finishes and had four more second-place finishes in Monday's events. Nuchwara Inthasit won an individual gold and part of a relay, while Maegan Desmarais won a pair of silver medals.
Inthasit was named Co-Most Outstanding Track Performer (Sprints) for her performance.
The women won their fifth NEC championship overall and fourth in the past five seasons.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
- Nuchwara Inthasit won gold in the 60 meter dash turning in a time of 7.698. She won the race by .002, just ahead the silver medalist.
- In the mile run, Maegan Desmarais ran 5:04.34 to place second, just ahead of teammate Mya Morabito who ran 5:04.83.
- Kyra Smith ran 57.62 to win the 400m, while Kayla Logan placed fourth with a time of 58.31.
- Kaylee Gravel ran 1:17.81 to earn silver in the 500m dash, while Sultana Ali ran 1:20.69 to score and place eighth.
- Central went 1-2 in the 800m run with Rachel Bartolucci winning in 2:16.87, just ahead of Morabito in 2:16.98.
- Inthasit and Smith scored in the 200m dash, with Inthasit placing fourth (25.30) and Smith (25.60) in seventh.
- In the 5,000m run, Desmarais led a trio of Blue Devils by placing second in 17:13.68. Rebecca Carusone placed fifth in 17:46.63, while Lillian Tabellione was sixth in 18:12.06.
- The Distance Medley Relay of Gravel, Emeliana Christy, Bartolucci and Isabelle Mondo placed fourth in 12:39.78.
- The Blue Devils capped off the meet winning the 4x400m relay. Inthasit, Logan, Ali and Smith clocked a time of 3:54.41 for gold.
FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
- Ciara Adu-addo placed fourth in the triple jump with a best mark of 11.49m.
- Marina Perry placed fifth in the weight throw with a top mark of 15.16m
